Summary Description of Job:
The statistician will collaborate on multiple oncology research and development activities with colleagues from Cancer Pharmacology, Imaging Sciences, Molecular Oncology, Lead Discovery, Toxicology, Translational Medicine, and Commercial. Broad interest and ability in applying mathematics and statistics to facilitate the quantitative decision-making process for oncology studies required. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys learning, pursues technical excellence, and thrives in an environment of high expectations and professional integrity.
Detailed Responsibilities and Scope of Job:
Provide statistical consultation and training to collaborators
Participate in the design stage of critical experiments
Support efficacy, synergy, toxicology, clinical biomarker studies
Validate assays and implement statistical process controls
Develop and review study protocols and analysis plans
Act as an integral member of project teams, collaborate effectively with other team members
Attend and provide statistical leadership in project meetings
Keep updated with new statistical methodology
Evaluate statistical and data-mining software
Develop new methodology and analysis tools when needed
Advocate statistics and drive innovation into drug discovery and development
Ensure timeliness and quality of all statistical deliverables
Qualifications for Job (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Effectiveness, Collaboration and Leadership):
· Knowledge and experiences in multivariate analysis, survival analysis, data mining, GLM, mixed effect model.
· Solid understanding of experimental design
· Work effectively under pressure and timeline
· Creative thinker with the ability to execute
· Strong computational skills in R, S-plus and SAS
· Ph.D. in Biostatistics or Statistics with 1- 3 years of pharmaceutical experience.
