Want to go to Immigrant Day 2011 in Sacramento?

Hi Everyone!! Please read this important message carefully and completely :)

Would you or someone from your church or organization like to go Immigrant Day in Sacramento coming up soon? Justice Overcoming Boundaries has room for 14 people to ride up to Sacramento and we need need to know ASAP! There is no cost. We will be staying at a church in the bay area for the night and gas will be paid for. We will also arrange food. San Diego youth and Dreamers need to represent at this super important event to advancing policies such as the CA Dream Act, Household Workers Bill of Rights, and anti secure communities bill.

What is Immigrant Day?

Join immigrants and advocates in a statewide day of advocacy, education and unity. Immigrant Day 2011 will bring a unified voice to Sacramento in support of policies that advance immigrant integration and prosperity for all Californians. Join us May 24th in Sacramento.

The potential plan may be:

1. Leave San diego on MOnday 23rd at approximately 11am- 12noon.. and drive to Sacramento ( have a nice time together) arrive there like at 10pm. 

2. spend the night at church/homes that Lety (has secured for us.. people need to bring sleeping bags . 

3. Go to immigrant advocacy days from 830am-3pm..

I was hoping to attend if there was room, but now have to work because two people are out of town; one who qualified for nationals (track) and hadn't expected that and another whose Mom is terminally ill and she needs to visit her in Minneapolis.  So sorry.  I hope that you get every seat filled for this important endeavor.    I would be happy to get signatures from Pilgrims on these issues if you think it would be helpful to present.  I would recommend that you bring with you a position paper  that you leave at each office that you visit, which is something that they had us do at Ecumenical Advocacy Days when they taught us how to lobby.
