This short report brings to light some interesting commits to
scylla.git master from the last week. Commits in the
055bc33f0f..3552e99ce7 range are covered.
There were 51 non-merge commits from 13 authors in that period.
Some notable commits:
When a node is down, writes to that node are collected in hint
files. When the node rejoins, hint files are replayed. It turned
out that hint replay was too fast and interfered with the normal
workload, so its concurrency was reduced
and made configurable.
The bootstrap process was made more robust
over failures to communicate the token ranges to the new node.
Such problems will be resolved more fully with Raft.
It is now possible to warn or prevent usage
of DateTieredCompactionStrategy. It has long since been
deprecated in favor of TimeWindowCompactionStrategy.
