This short report brings to light some interesting commits to
scylla.git master from the last week. Commits in the
1507bbb35a1..bd168d57ff range are covered.
There were 118 non-merge commits from 16 authors in that period.
Some notable commits:
With the Time Window Compaction Strategy, an sstable in a time
window can become fully expired so that Scylla can just delete it.
A regression caused these expires to happen in parallel instead of
being serialized, which increased load on the system. This is now
fixed.
There is a new process
for building docker images, based on the buildah tool. The
process makes it easier to to build outside the continuous
integration pipeline (e.g. for individual developers).
The new service level workload type functionality was changed
to use the more traditional NULL when the workload type is
not specified (instead of 'unspecified').
