Hi

We are running some tests Cassandra vs ScyllaDB and would like to know if there is a way to add multiple nodes to the running scyllaDB cluster at once or do we need to go one by one like Cassandra 2.1.

I am using the recommended latest centos AMI for EC2.

Regards

Hi, Vikas

Yes, it is required to add node one by one. We have some ideas to allow adding multiple node at a time but it is not there yet.

Thanks Asias. Ability to add multiple nodes at once would be a really great feature.

By the way, if you already have a running cluster in AWS and want to add additional nodes to it you can add the following to your user data:

--clustername ${cluster-name}
--totalnodes ${number-of-nodes}
--seeds ${ip-of-one-node-already-in-cluster}

By adding --seeds to the user data scylla will boot with that seed ip addr in scylla.yaml and will be able to join the cluster. --clustername needs to be the same as your existing cluster as well.

Thanks,
Alexander
