This short report brings to light some interesting commits to
scylla.git master from the last weeks. Commits in the
4950ce539..6cb3caaf39b range are covered.
There were 110 non-merge commits from 12 authors in that period.
Some notable commits:
Several virtual
tables have been added for providing information usually
obtained via nodetool: system.snapshots, system.protocol_servers,
system.runtime_info, and system.versions.
There is a new virtual table, system.config,
for querying scyla.yaml configuration information. It can also be
updated via the UPDATE statement.
The locale is now set to use UTF-8
encoding in the container image, so cqlsh works correctly
when displaying non-ascii data.
Commitlog disk storage accounting, specifically for wasted
space (padding) has been corrected for the error path.
A Seastar
update improves support for full-duplex disks. These are
disks where reads and writes do not affect each other, and so they
are scheduled independently.
See you in the next issue of last week in scylla.git master!
