This short report brings to light some interesting commits to scylladb.git master from the last week. Commits in the ff87624fb4..41629e97de range are covered.

There were 106 non-merge commits from 14 authors in that period. Some notable commits:

Gossip no longer updates topology with the IP address of a removed node, during a replacenode operation, preventing a dead node from being resurrected.

The installer no longer checks that systemd is installed if --without-systemd is provided.

Gossip now uses a better source to get live node information for truncate, reducing false failures of the TRUNCATE operation.

ScyllaDB is now built using a Fedora 37 based toolchain, including clang 15.

Messaging will now prevent 0.0.0.0 and its IPv6 equivalent from being used as a node IP address.

A bug that caused writes to materialized views to fail after a schema change has been fixed.

A crash when the compaction manager was asked to stop multiple times (for different reasons) was fixed.

A problem with RPC connections being needlessly dropped was fixed.

The task nanager will no longer run tasks that were aborted before being started.

See you in the next issue of last week in scylladb.git master!
