Tuval looked at the Commander sitting across fom him.
Even with all of the Vulcan displines at his call,
this "interview" was trying his patience. At first, he
entertained himself by mentally playing some logic
games he'd learned as a child. But that had ceased
being enjoyable a hour ago. Now he was wondering how
much damage he could inflict on the Commander before
security could stop him.

"Do you have anything else to add, Lieutenant," aked
the Commander.

"No, Sir."

"Very well. ou may pick up your effects from the
guard. Dismissed."

Tuval stood and left the room. He stopped at the
security station just outside of the door and picked
up a knife in a wrist sheath. He placed the sheath on
his left wrist and made sure it didn't show. Next he
picked up a type I phaser and checked the charge. He
flashed the officer a grin as he pocketed the phaser
and headed towards the lift.

Tuval quickly made his to the docking level. He nearly
made it back to the Scylax when he noticed a familiar
figure waiting for him. The figure fell in step with
Tuval as Tuval passed him.

"Duncan."

"Tuval."

"What is it you want me to do this time?"

"You Klingon was released."

"My Klingon? I wasn't aware that I had one."

"You know what I mean."

Tuval nodded. "I can't believe that Intelligence would
release him."

"We didn't. Starfleet Command did. He seems to have
some friends in the High Council."

Tuval shrugged. "Then it seems that the High Council
knows what the Scylax's missions was."

"Most likely."

"What does this have to do with me?"

"Mr. Kaarg isn't likely to be happy with you."

"Name a Klingon that does."

"I can name several Romulans that like you."

Tuval rolled his eyes.

"I want you to keep an eye on him," Duncan continued,
"and for you to be careful. There is no way to know
what he'll do."

"I'm always careful. My time with Intelligence,
official and unofficial, has taught me that. Besides,
whatever else Mr. Kaarg might be, stupid isn't one of
them. He will know that he is being watched, so he'll
be more careful."

"That maybe so. We need to restrict what he has access
to and what gets back to the High Council. It would be
nice if we knew what he was sending to the High
Council."

Tuval stopped. "I'm the Chief Tacticle Officer of the
Scylax, not the Chief Intelligence Officer. If you
want someone to spend all their time to watch Mr.
Kaarg, then have on assigned."

"It's part of your job to secure the Scylax from this
kind of threat."

"This I know. But I will not spy on my crew. If that's
what you want me to do, then make it an order and talk
to my Captain."

Duncan looked at Tuval for amoment. "I think I might
have to have a talk with your Captain. Maybe the
Scylax needs an Intelligence officer." With that,
Duncan turned and walked away.

Tuval watched him breifly before boarding the Scylax.

Lieutenant (jg) Tuval James
Chief Tacticle Officer
