The rub of green did not go Mumbai Indians' way in the IPL 2023 Qualifier 2 as two of their key batters picked up injuries against Gujarat Titans on Friday, May 26. Ishan Kishan did not come out to open the innings while in-form Cameron Green had to head back to the dressing room, and retired hurt in their uphill chase of 234.

Ishan Kishan left the field after the 16th over of the Gujarat Titans innings due to a freak eye injury. The Mumbai Indians wicketkeeper was hit in his left eye by bowler Chris Jordan's left elbow when he went up to console the England pacer, who gave away 17 runs in his 3rd over.

However, things did not go as planned for the Mumbai Indians as they lost Nehal Wadhera in the first over to Mohammed Shami. The Gujarat Titans pacer continued his sensational run in the powerplay, getting Wadhera caught behind with a delivery in the uncertainty corridor. GREEN HIT ON HIS HAND

There was more bad news for Mumbai Indians as Cameron Green retired hurt as early as the 2nd over of the Mumbai Indians' chase. Green, who hit his maiden IPL hundred in the league stage, was hit on his elbow when he took his eye of a delivery in the 2nd over.

Both India and Australia will be hopeful of quick recoveries to Ishan Kishan and Cameron Green as the both players are part of the squads for the World Test Championship final, which will be played in London from June 7 to 11.
