Happy Earth Week! I hope you will consider attending one of the many events associated with the Sustainability Teach-In. Everything mentioned in this e-mail can be found here: http://www.scu.edu/ignatiancenter/events/sustainability/teachin.cfm
 
Sustainability Teach-In Open Classrooms
Consider attending a lecture given by professors from Arts & Sciences, Business, Engineering, and Law on sustainability topics. These one-hour lectures will be held in Kennedy Commons so there will be plenty of room. Individuals do not need to RSVP. For lecturers and lecture times, please visit the Teach In web site (above).

OTHER ACTIVITIES
Film Screenings
The videos Forces of Nature (Viewing/Taping Room A) and Fresh (Viewing/Taping Room B) will be screened in the Harrington Learning Commons throughout Tuesday and Wednesday, at scheduled class start times.
 
Tours of the Solar Decathlon houses, Donohoe Alumni House, and the Forge Community & Education Garden. The Forge Garden will also host free workshops: "Composting" as well as "Starting your organic garden."
Earth Day and Vendor Fair
Wednesday: 10:00am-2:00 pm Santa Clara Mall (between Benson and Kenna)
The GREEN Club's annual event will feature crafts, games, as well as several local vendors specializing in items made from repurposed materials. Products for sale will include journals, note cards, stuffed animals, used CDs, DVDs, and LPs, and glassware made from wine, beer, liquor, and soda bottles.
 
Book of the Quarter: Earth in Mind by David Orr
Tuesday: 4:30-6:00 pm, Harrington Learning Commons

David Orr, Ph.D. Wednesday, April 20, 2011, 7:00-8:30 PM
David Orr, Professor of Environmental Studies and Politics from Oberlin College will give a public lecture in the Mayer Theatre.

Wonder and Worry, an excerpt from David Popalisky's dance Migrations will precede the lecture.
