More Wheels When You Want Them

Santa Clara University has expanded its partnership with Zipcar, bringing 8 new Zipcars to campus. These new cars bring with them a new program: CBL Affiliate memberships. For qualified students, SCU will waive the application fee and the first year's membership fee. In addition, CBL affiliates will also receive 12 free rental hours. Read more >>

Conner Mulrooney, Class of 2012

Conner's work has impacted the Santa Clara community by placing convenient and accessible water filter stations in heavily trafficked areas of campus such as in Benson, Malley Fitness Center, and all residence halls. Conner's work is receiving strong recognition from the community and he's proud that the water filling stations are getting good use and actually working to reduce the amount of plastic water bottles on campus. SCU Donates Furniture to Food for the Poor
This summer, the Housing Office donated 518 pieces of furniture from Dunne Hall, including desks, chairs, and shelves weighing over 18 tons (the equivalent of 9 rhinoceroses) to Food for the Poor, via the International Recycling Network. The furniture was sent to Food for the Poor agencies in El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Jamaica, and Mexico. Clearly, many people will come to benefit from SCU's donation.

A solar advocate will share information about a group-purchase opportunity for residential photovoltaic systems. Wednesday 10/5 and Thursday 10/6. He will share information about equipment, the industry, net metering, local rebates, and will provide general advice for homeowners.
