Which PS5 and PS4 games support crossplay with rival consoles Xbox Series SX, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch? Sony was under fire for a long time regarding its reluctance to support crossplay, but following an open beta featuring a handful of tentpole titles, the company now allows developers to support the oft-requested feature without any restrictions. Below you'll find a list of all PS5 and PS4 crossplay games, which we'll update as more software gets added. You can learn much more about Sony's new-gen console in our PS5 guide.
In this guide you'll find a list of all PS5 and PS4 crossplay games. We've also specified which games support cross platform progression, meaning your in-game progress will transition between devices. Please note that while best efforts have been invested to ensure this list is accurate, developers may remove functionality at their discretion.
Are you a fan of any of all PS5 and PS4 crossplay games? Do you wish more titles would take advantage of the feature? Have a gander at our PS5 guide, and then hook up with your brothers and sisters from another system in the comments section below.
2022 EDIT: This was a sarcastic comment referencing the huge clamour at the time for Sony to introduce cross-play, which has aged poorly, making it even less funny now than it was then. Just wanted to say this, so that I stop getting replies to it, anyway that's all I wanted to say okay bye
@get2sammyb cheers mate. It's only the beginning, I'm expecting the list to grow in the future no worries there ,still I was a bit disappointed, was expecting to see MH world or something here........................ too soon I guess
Please Warframe, please Warframe, please Warframe, please Warframe, please Warframe, please Warframe, please Warframe.
FFXIV too.
I don't care about Fortnite, but for some games this is absolutely huge and a big deal. Also I'm looking forward to hearing how developers handle the "I have cosmetics on both ps4 and pc" issue.
Is this only games that are cross play between all 3 console platforms? If thats the case its going to remain a very tiny list, mostly because the Switch is not likely to get most of the "modern AAA" titles that the Xbox One and PS4 are going to get, so the opportunity for cross play between all 3 is going to be very limited.
not gonna happen with the likes of destiny 2. and i can't imagine it'll happen with games which require playstation owners to agree to sign up to xbox live accounts. with fortnite, they may be satsified that all platforms are tied into an epic games account, and no info is shared directly.
@Dange
Maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way, but why would recent cod rdr2 fifa benefit? They have huge player bases already, you can still play black ops 1 on the ps3. Now if you said titanfall 2 I'd kinda understand
Hahaha what a list!! ? Crossplay's not something I'm overly bothered about as I, personally, don't really play online. I do, however, appreciate a clever idea so it would be nice to see one of the cods or gta onlines of the future have some form of Sony vs Microsoft mayhem. I feel we all know who would win that battle. Just like this console generation.. So do I drop the microphone now or?....
Lol Since when is lame a bad word? Or has everyone become too sensitive for it? Lame. Either way, could care less about my games needing to be compatible with xboxers. If they want to play with the best, they need to join the best.
@Envy And proud of it homie! A-1 since day 1! Destruction Derby, Syphon Filter, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Oddworld, Gran Turismo and tons more! I knew ever since I was 6 that playstation was the place to play. What you got Halo?! Pfft move along Box boy
@SonuvLiberty people like you doesn't deserve to be part of the gaming community. Also have fun with the "best place to play". Censorship must be nice. Also most of those games you mentioned are on other platforms..... Another thing too, I'm on all platforms. ( Also, at least Halo is much better than killzone/resistance)
@Envy lol dude everyone deserves to be apart of this community. Take your whiny anger else where. If you don't like Playstion(best of the best by the way) why oh why are you commenting on a Playstation dedicated site?? Better yet commenting on something from back in May!? Its August now bro, gotta come with insults a little quicker then that
@SonuvLiberty it's definitely not the best of the best. So have fun with that egotistic attitude of yours. Also this article was updated recently so it came back up to the top. So gotta keep up with the insults a little quicker than that. ( There's no best place to play btw)
@Quintumply are you being serious? Trolling? So when this other user was going after me, it's okay? But when I do. It's a bad thing and trolling..... Look, I like this site but some of the people on here are mentally exhausting. I'll guess I will slow down, but when someone responds to me with a condicending attitude of course I'm gonna respond. But thank you for warning me instead of banning me out right, so I appreciate that. Have a good day
But anyway, I don't want to drag you through the mud. You've said you'll cool it, and I appreciate that! If ever you feel you're being purposely targeted, report it and move on. You have a good day too
i only hope there also is an option to let you only play with ps4 players if you dont want to play with the others. since pc users can easily change from controller to m/kb before the game start. and nintendo online is the worst so you can expect plenty of lag if you play against those guys. also there will be all kind of problems when you hook up all four to connect to each others. so thats why i prefer to play with ps4 players only.
I can't wait for destiny 2 to become cross play i really can't, it's bound to happen since it's moving to steam this month. I expect it next year and I expect a PS5 version to come as well because after moving my saves to pc from PS4 and experience it in 60fps I can't go back to PS4 version
As a switch and PS4 owner with split custody of my kids, I cant think cross-platform gaming is a life saver. I play Fortnite, Paladins, Rocket leauge, and Real Royal regularly. Most importantly I play them with my girls when they are not around. We don't have to see each other to go on an adventure together. Thought this list is old news and nothing new has come out since like September of last year. Except Dauntless which we also play. It kills me to hear people say this is useless. It is a unified gaming community where we can remain in contact with friends thousands of miles away, or meet new friends across the globe. I would lover to see the MMORPG jump to switch in a cross platform environment but I do believe it is a little under powered. But these F2P games are paving the way and should be commended for the accomplishment not ridiculed.
Well this article is heavily biased in Microsoft's false advertising PR statement regarding crossplay. Sony has supported crossplay since the PS2, and was actively supporting it with PS4 whenever they came wrongly under fire by the Xbox camp. You can't say they weren't doing it just because it wasn't working with Fortnite, as it was actively working with a plethora of games already. Goalposts moved, Microsoft tricked the majority of you, simple facts.
@Agramonte @jbreez00
Genshin Impact does have cross-play, meaning you can play with people from other devices from PS4 and vice versa. It's cross-platform progression, or cross-save, that it doesn't have between PS4 and others.
What about games like Genshin Impact that is cross-play & cross-progression on PS4/5, PC and mobile (it's not on other consoles yet). FYI it wasn't cross-play on PS at launch, but that changed a year ago.
