{Juneau Divers} June diving?

Hey there, Juneau Divers - I'll be in your town in mid-June for a NOAA
conference and will probably get a dive or two in while I'm there -
some of my colleagues are local divers. I'm just wondering if you'll
be scheduling some dives around that time, and if this group is the
right place to be looking for potential buddies or site suggestions.
I'm an active rec & tec diver and rec instructor in Southern
California, and I'm very much looking forwad to seeing your beautiful
surroundings!

Hi Kathy,

You have come the right place for diving info and finding buddies while
in Juneau. The algea bloom is horid right know, but come June it will
clear up and we will have a couple of weeks of wonderful vis before the
algea comes back for the normal summer vis. I suggest you contact the
local dive shop and check on renting tanks and weights if you plan on
bringing your own gear, or renting gear if you don't. The water will
still be around 42 degrees so plan on bringing or renting a drysuit. If
you are not drysuit certified and can deal with being cold a 7 mil
farmer john will get you through one short dive. About a week before
you come up in June, post a buddy request and if I'm around I'll be
happy to go out with you.

Hi Kathy

there's always folks who will dive with you while you are here. You
heard from Patty...I am another one that will hop in the water about
anytime!!
