hi everyone I don't dive myself but was wondering if there is any good
diving near San Diego that I could arrange for my husband. He has done
lots of 'cold' english diving! thanks

Yes. Depending on his cert level - he needs to dive "Wreck Alley".
Also, I would recommend a Channel Islands trip and spending a weekend
at Catalina. Great spots and tons of fun. Getting into a dive club
would be good for both of you as well. I run a scuba and snorkel dive
club and can't tell you all the interesting things seen. Even at a
pizza parlor. Be Safe, Go Dive.

One other place - would be to head south of the border and dive in
Mexico. Cheap, good and fun. Be careful of the water - but the views
are spectacular. Cheers.
