Greetings everyone,
I have been interested in learning more about the scuba life, besides
what they teach you in a classroom. So I figured the best place to do
this is online with a group of like minde folks.

I am currently in Iraq as a civilain helping the US Army. But as soon
as I get back to TX I will be grabbing some gear and going diving in
the gulf coast. Im currently a Rescue Diver with aspirations of
becoming an instructor. So any guidance on haw to prepare for Dive
Master and IDC would always be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Tim,
Take care of yourself first.
Then you can surf the net under scuba to find your specialty and lock in
those finds. Next I would find books on the subject of scuba. There is a
Best Publishing Co. that has a big collection of scuba diving even tech
diving as others. I just bought a CD that has the NOAA Diving manual on it.
It was something like 40.00us. Regular it is 98.00. It is the 4 edition and
is the current book of trust. I am a reader so the time element for you may
not fit. There are other manuals out there. Try also to connect with Navy
EOD or divers in the area to link up with there library or even conversation
on scuba. Keep the subject in the area of interest. Ask them for the Navy
books on diving there is one and it is two volumes. Before coming home try
for any gear that is not metric since it might be less costly.
Good luck in your endeavors.
