Dear Environmental Subcommittee,

I am forwarding this message and attachment from Mary Reames at Leonardo Academy for your consideration.  Please review and send any suggestions as requested in this follow-up message:

In the interests of producing a working Reference Guide for the pilot program, could you request anyone reviewing the Reference Guide to do so in the following fashion:

 

1.        If there are additions and/or improvements that the reviewer can do now, s/he should feel free to do so.

2.       If the reviewer has suggestions for additions and/or improvements that will require significant amounts of research or other work, please put those suggestions on a list; we will incorporate those ideas at a later date.

We’ve been very fortunate to have a very capable intern, Amy Bublitz, working on a draft of the Reference Guide for the Ag Standard this semester.  She’s quite motivated because she’s doing it as her senior project, and she’s made great progress.  She’s completed a draft of the Environmental Section, which I’ve attached (General section is in here too, but grayed out).

 

Could you please send this out to your subcommittee members and ask them to review and improve? It’s fairly general right now, and any specific resources that producers or others could use in meeting the standard requirements would be great.  The draft is locked in Track Changes mode, so any work done on it will be tracked.

 

I’d like to get comments and revisions back within 2 weeks so Amy can incorporate them before the end of her semester.
