Presentation: “Agile in the Real World”

Whilst the Agile movement is commonly associated with the software development industry; Agility is a concept that incorporates the ideas of flexibility, balance, adaptability, and coordination under one umbrella. In a business context, Agility refers to the ability of an organization to rapidly adapt to market and environmental changes in productive and cost-effective ways. The many Agile methodologies, frameworks and tools are typically convincing and deceptively easy to understand. Their implementation in a real world organization proves to be quite demanding and the road to true agility is sprinkled with many traps. One of the key reasons is that the move to agile entails almost everywhere a change in the culture of the affected organization and its surrounding.
