Description:
As a Developer for Message Gateway (MGWY), you will work in a team environment with solution architects and developers on interpretation / translation of creative designs into technical designs, and subsequently into a robust implementation.
These resources will work with a third party, Volante, codeveloping in order to build out SESE messages on the Message Gateway Platform (based on Volante Volpay and Volante Designer).
Responsibilities
- Acts in a lead technical role for Message Gateway, providing technical guidance and consultation with application teams, clients, engineering and development team to develop with Volante, a third party vendor, the necessary changes to the MGWY in order to process SESE messages.
- Works closely with Application Manager, Technical Lead and Business Analyst to understand requirements and translate them in robust working code.
- Partners with Senior Software Engineers to direct the gathering of performance statistics to assist in determining hardware and communication tools needed to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets.
- Understands application composition along with the impact in order to be accountable for the all engineering aspects including, upgrades and deployments from engineering / implementation perspective.
- As an escalation point, provides guidance and direction in resolution of highly complex technical problems and provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of highly complex technical problems.
- Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs using Agile development practices.
- Develops detailed design documentation and departmental technical procedures.
- Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported technology domain.
- Creates technical stories for the requested effort
- Works closely with Scrum Master and actively participates in Agile ceremonies.
- Should be able to work in odd hours with domestic / India team and make sure that projects are on track.
Qualifications
This ideal candidate must have the following qualifications:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- 7+ years of application development and implementation experience.
- 7+ years of Java experience.
- 5+ SWIFT experience
- 5+ years of analysis experience in a customer facing application.
- 5 + years of experience in writing relational database queries for stored procedures, query optimization and performance tuning.
- 5+ years partnering with architects to understand architectural design, requirements and be able to translate into engineering requirements.
- 5+ years handling production issues.
- 4+ years of GitHub/Jenkins experience.
- 3+ years of modern architecture design experience.
- 2+ year of Volante Designer experience
- 2+ years of Agile/SCRUM methodology experience.
- 2+ years experienced in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodologies.
- 2+ years’ strong debugging, problem solving and investigative skills. Ability to assimilate disparate information (log files, error message, etc.) and pursue leads to find root cause problems.
- 2+ Experience automating testing / QA activities.
- 1+ year of Autosys experience.
- Experience in application transformation including migrating to a Cloud environment.
- Extensive Experience with technical design documentation.
- Extremely strong communications skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Volante Volpay or Designer
- Experience working in Payments.
- Experience working with PCF is a plus or additional cloud experience a huge plus (Google, Azure).
- Understanding of KAFKA and no-sql database like Mongo DB.
