Is it possible to upload and add Images with the scroll viewport comment function? https://www.k15t.com/display/VPRT/Display+and+Add+Users%27+Comments

Is Disqus the better Option for comments? https://www.k15t.com/display/VPRT/Integrate+Disqus+Comments

Hi Bastian,

I would suggest using Disqus for this use-case.

The example code that is posted in our Wiki only allows rich text to be inserted in the comment field (with Markdown). Plus, users have to be logged in to be able to comment. Disqus allows anonymous users to post comments, including those with images: https://help.disqus.com/customer/portal/articles/466234-adding-images-or-videos-to-comments.

Let us know if you have any questions regarding this integration.

Cheers,
Roman.

Hi Roman,

for our purpose, the user must be logged in. Is it possible to post on behalf of the Confluence user? We do not want anonymous comments and no Login via Facebook, Twitter or other systems.

Cheers,
Bastian

Hi Bastian,

Disqus is completely separate from Confluence platform, and comments posted through it won't be posted from Confluence users.

In your case, you would need to use the Viewport to handle comments from Confluence. Currently, it is not possible to upload comments with images using the Viewport-method, however images posted in comments from Confluence interface will be rendered in the Viewport site. I have created an issue in our JIRA for the improvement to add images to comments creation: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/VPRT-739.

Cheers,
Roman.
