Halves-ies

Good morning, seminary teachers and friends,

Can you believe it's fall already? And this year's doctrinal mastery has an extra twist: half the year in the Gospels and half the year in Book of Mormon. I have a couple questions:

1. I am questioning whether to offer the scripture clips in the same way as previously (an entire book of scripture in one download) Knowing that each school year will be using two halves of a book of Scripture, how would you want the scripture clips packaged? If not as a complete book of scripture, then what about a half book of scripture? But at what scripture passage is the dividing line? Another option is to offer the complete 25 passages in one (half of one book combined with half of the next book.)

2. At what chapter of the book of Mormon do your classes plan to end the school year in? Alma 35 or so?

3. Will you want to have access to the entire year's scriptures at once? Or will you at the mid-school-year put away the passages from the first half and then only use the passages from the second half? If I were teaching, I would see the year as having 25 passages, personally.

Hi Mike,

I would personally like the whole book together. In our area we aren't, for instance, just doing the DM that are in the gospels. We are doing the first 4 topics and that includes scriptures that are in the other books in the New Testament.

This term my class will only be doing the first 10 DMs--the ones that correlate with the Gospels

Next term all we will be ending at Alma 29 so that means only the first 13 of the BOM  DMs.  

If the majority of teachers are doing it that way, it would be easier for us to have half and half  on one Scripture Clips download.

I was just thinking the other day I needed to watch more kid movies so Scripture Clips could be updated and here you are asking!  We haven't even started Seminary yet!
