I am a librarian with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. We have a digital library (platform is CONTENTdm), and as we add videos to it, we would like to use your tool, Scripto, to help us transcribe them.
We really want to use Scripto, but have to have to get over this hurdle first. Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing back.
Thank you.

Thank you for your quick reply, Sharon.
Is it at all possible for someone at Scripto to apply for a Protection Profile? I know of five other federal agencies who might possibly benefit from it, and completing a PP once can apply to all of us. [Crossing fingers]
Thank you.

Subject: [Non-DoD Source] Re: [scripto-dev] Does Scripto have a Protection Profile (PP)?
Hi Rachel,
Thank you for your question. Scripto does not currently have a Protection Profile. We're not really a vendor, since it's open source software. But, your IT folks can certainly download the package and evaluate it it. Currently there is a working plugin for Omeka (Blockedhttp://omeka.org/add-ons/plugins/scripto/) and the basic php connector library is available if you'd like to adapt it to work with another CMS (Blockedhttps://github.com/chnm/Scripto).
Bests,
Sharon

To download your software, however, I need to get it approved through our IT folks. Their process includes finding out if Scripto has an approved Protection Profile. If you do, can you please send me a copy? If you don't, apparently there is a process my agency requires the vendor (you) to do. That process is detailed at Blockedhttps://www.niap-ccevs.org/Ref/Evals.cfm. I'm hoping that you have already gone through that process.
Perry Collins from NEH suggested I write to this group for help.
