Hi,
First off, thank you in advance for any help, finding this resource has been very helpful!  I am trying to put together an online-IAT for use with MTurk.  I have always used Inquisit for running IAT studies in the lab but it seems that the plugin is a no-no for MTurk now.  Looking through the materials for scriptingRT and Winter Mason's WebIAT it still seems unsure whether I can modify the code making a single-category IAT?  Does anyone know if this is possible or where else I might look?
Thank you!
Katie

Hi Katie,

interesting. How so? because of executable code?

re the iat in scriptingRT: the IAT example used an older version of the scriptingrt library, and to my knowledge that was never adapted to the current library. so I believe it would be considerable work to adapt it.

I have always shied away from doing the iat in scriptingrt because of the complex randomization/balancing needs that scriptingrt does not really accomodate. the way to go would be to take the task apart, create multiple scriptingrt parts, let the randomization be done by qualtrics or some other web survey software, and then link the data later. however, with the recent creation of http://www.qrtengine.com/, it probably makes more sense to use qrte right away completely in this case.

if you attempt to do this, please keep me updated; I would be interesting to get a single target iat running in qrte, and willing to help.

best,
thomas

Thank you!
Katie
