As you know I've been working on code and the new website. This is purely about the code.

Beta release jar is here.

The latest build is ready for beta. See notes where I've been blogging on progress. Please check the new and existing docs, especially ReadMe, Release Notes, Installation, Permissions, Start and Stop. This release does not have major updates, doesn't support new colors or some new objects. Right now I just want to make sure this just doesn't throw errors, crash, or break any existing code. Please post issues in my repo, not the official/production repo.

Current plan:
  • Get feedback in 3.2.2.7 (probably should have been 3.2.3.0).
  • First and subsequent releases that respond to feedback will be 3.2.3.1-n
  • I still want to create/update more docs. I have a doc that explains dependencies that will be added soon.
  • I'll add v1.12 blocks, materials, and try to get new colors in.
Help is welcome to identify required changes, as well as updates to modules like blocks and colors.
  • Submit v3.3.0 to Walter as a release candidate.

One of us should be updating the Bukkit plugins download page with the update so that anyone who finds the plugin there will be able to install and run on the current Minecraft 1.12.1.

Please load and run this beta before using in a classroom, but if you do run a classroom, please do use this release if no critical issues are reported.

Notes on v1.13 and other topics will be posted separately.

Comments and questions on this release are welcome.

Thanks!!

A status update has been posted to a blog. It's more information about the 3.2.3 doc update than anyone might want. But I figured I'd put my thoughts out there so at least everyone knows why I've added/modified docs.

If you would like to contribute to this project but don't know how, please go through the documentation and make notes. Is it too much? What should be moved or removed? Too little? What should be added? Who is the audience for new info?

And most importantly can you install and use the software in v1.12.1?

Except for some minor doc updates that will be made over the next few weeks, this BETA release is now frozen. A Pull Request been posted to the master branch of Walter's repo - this is just expressing intent and a request to move all of the recent changes to production. After some confirmation of suitability I'd like to merge that to the master at the end of this month.

Some Minecraft v1.12.1 changes will not be in the upcoming v3.3.0 release, like multi-colored beds or parrots. Those and other artifacts will be added soon.

I'm really hoping for feedback on the this release before it goes production. Thanks!

Hi CS,

This sounds great and I look forward to trying it. In the short term, however, I'm deploying ScriptCraft in a class so am just trying to get the most stable release working. More on this in a separate thread.

Thanks again for your work on this!
