Hi -Hmm the story is like this - There is an old car in a junkyard
which has an illustrious past - in the early years of the grand prix
in London paris etc it used to win all the time until once when it has
an accident and is completely junked. Two children love this junked
car and want to own it...They are the children of a jobless
inventor... who's inventions are always flop shows ... but he's
brilliantly ahead of his times... Like he's trying a flying machine
etc... One day, by accident almost the man invents sweets with holes
and he discovers that they can be used as a whistle...So he takes it
to the local sweet manufacturer and theer he not only bags the deal
but also ends up making friends with the owners daughter... he uses
the money to buy this old car and repairs it so that it runs with the
sound chitty chitty bang bang...They all go on a picnic and there
there he tells them a story .. in this story after a major adevnture
in which the car flies and floats and all that, they manage to rescue
a whole lot of imprisoned children...the story ends with the Heiress
marrying the inventor and all singing happily together...Yeah - it was
a children's film but disturbing undercurrents - like the baroness who
denies people having children - is that a dig at China? And the last
song when the girl pretends to be a doll waiting to be rescued was
really very haunting and painful...In all it was a great movie and
somewhat disturbing too...Ok more later.ShubaOn 23 June, 14:21, Sai
