uh no.

sure would be nice if this program that worked 6 months ago worked
now.

until then we can blame java or whatever but it is not a java problem.

Uh... yes. At the time that was written (early 2009), yes. Sun added a
bug to LiveConnect in u11 (which was a HUGE update to java6). Then
they fixed it in u12.

Not really. Not for me anyway.

The reason it doesn't work anymore is because I don't care about it.
Why don't I care? Meh. If it really bugs you, unzip the xpi look at
the code and go nuts fixing it yourself.
