Hey All!!

Lets get something working with respects to hardware/software with
various fader tracking solutions this month. I've been slowly working
on ofxXwax and getting usb audio working correctly on the oF
raspberry-pi branch. Lee I know you have been playing around with the
hall effects sensor and I got 4 in from sparkfun with a couple arduino
pro minis and other gear. I'm planning on picking up one of those
really cheap mixer LM4K linked on IRC (can you relink here LM4K?) and
try to get everything (raspberry pi, arduino, sensors, etc) mounted
and working inside the mixer. If anyone wants to work on the design
of an after market mod for existing mixers to mount the hall effects
sensors near the fader and something to mount a magnet on the fader
post I have a replicator 2 now so I can print the design etc.

Move on the on moving on sounds great.  Did you buy the linear Hall effects sensor?  I think you might have purchased is a latch Hall effect sensor which doesn’t know the polls...and it has ?smit? trigger... more reasons that one doesn’t work so good for us but whatever.... I’ve been wanting to buy a couple of those too because well I love magnets.   But here’s a great video and here’s where I just recently bought more linear. Oh yeah here's the link to some migrants.  I haven't bought any yet but thats next.

Software wise I’m almost done with a project that combines some things I needed for other projects as well as for this one.  I’m calling it Dialogger.  I manually log milliseconds from a audio file or you can position your virtual vinyl and select the data that way.   So when you scratch (virtual vinyl) or play the corresponding audio it’ll produce a word, letter and best of all for you animators or and people the love to scratch something more.  You will be able to select the corresponding  lip-synch based on the Hanna-Barbera AF system then scratch that as well.

I really still want to see how sine wave works out...are you still planning to pursue it or someone here is?    Dan do you think the ras pie might be a little heavy for the Hall set up?   Maybe a HackDuino?

I really would like to design something for my own mixer with the replicator although it is a Vestax.  What’s good about the 05 and 07 series is that magnets stick to their fader post.   Recently I went to dub spot and the post on the Rane was not real metal so I had to use tape... nothing some superglue couldn’t fix.Inline image 1
