Is there a way to uncouple the Color and EOTF settings in the Media tab?

I'm working on an animated film that all the media has a Linear EOTF. We're experimenting with translating the media from different color spaces into P3. The problem is when I switch color (ex Rec709 to P3) the EOTF also switches to 2.4 or 2.6 from Linear, making A/B comparisons difficult.

If there is not a way to uncouple these settings, is there a place to change the default pairings so I could, for example, have P3 D65 paired with Linear?

Thanks,
Parke

Hey Parke,

sadly not possible at this point.
I've made a note though, you're not the first one to ask about this :-) .

Cheers,
Mazze

Thanks Mazze!  Most of the time working in SDR, I appreciate the gamma/EOTF marriage… but working in HDR… it’s really an eye-attack/sun burn jumping from PQ to 2.6 in the monitor settings. :). Thanks for adding this to the wish list.

I’m new to HDR, so my workflow is in the infant stages and I’m experimenting a lot... which is mostly bad on the retinas. :)

On the same note, I wonder if it's time for a new Assimilate/Scratch splash screen that is a little more HDR friendly and/or have the HDR metadata switch to SDR when you leave a project.
