Friends, members, and supporters,

After 3-major oil spills hit Alberta in just over a month, a network of landowner, health, labour and environmental groups called for an independent review of pipeline safety in the province. The network, which now represents over 60-groups, was worried about the impact oil spills have on communities, on public health, and on a fragile environment. Given the 3 major spills and the over 600 pipeline incidents that hit Alberta’s aging pipeline network every year, the groups pushed for an independent review to get answers to Alberta’s pipeline problems.

After tremendous public pressure the Alberta government finally announced a review but they are shutting the public groups out of the process. Even though the Alberta government has found the time to meet with oil and gas companies about the review, they have yet to meet with any of the 60-groups that called for it.

Don’t you think the Alberta government should meet with public groups not just oil company executives?

Please sign this petition and pass it along to your friends and family. Together we can make a difference:
