I am writing to let you know about plans for the next World Scout Jamboree. The World Scout Jamboree is held every four years around the world. In 2011 it was held in Sweden, 2015 Japan, 2019 USA, 2023 South Korea. The next Jamboree will be held in Gdansk, Poland in the summer of 2027 and will have approximately 45,000 Scouts and leaders from over 140 countries in attendance. For youth participants, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to live in a tent city where they are camping next to Scouts their own age from all over the world. They get a chance to meet Scouts from countries they are reading about in school or that their family is from, or practice their foreign language skills. We will be in Poland for over two weeks, with a pre-tour for a few days and then about 10 days at the Jamboree itself.
Participants must be between age 14-17 at the start of the Jamboree on July 30, 2027. Anyone older than that can apply to be a unit leader or on staff. Anyone younger than that will have to wait for the 2031 Jamboree in Denmark. This is an incredible event that will keep older Scouts active in your unit.
