Hi families!
Youth basketball season is upon us and our first game is scheduled for Saturday January 19th. All young men that are currently deacons or who will still be 13 on 01-19-19 are welcome to play with our Deacons team!
If your son is willing to play, please let David Wilson know ASAP (dewi...@gmail.com)! We will need most deacons to play in order to have a team with some subs for this year. Basketball practice will be every Thursday night from 6-7:00pm starting this Thursday Jan 10th. Huge thanks to David Wilson for volunteering (more like "volentold") to coach the team this year!
This Week:
Thur Jan 10th
6pm, Basketball practice at the Church.
7pm, Welcome to Young Mens Intros and What's Coming! Meet at the Church (upstairs rooms). Part of the discussion will be discussing the up and coming Yurt Snowshoe Camping, so if parents would like to listen in, I'm sure that would be just fine but we'll continue to email you details (see below) and eventually provide a packing list (we'll try and get that together by next week).
Next week +:
Wed Jan 16th - Stake Missionary Activity (Stake Youth Zone Conference) for all youth. 7pm at the Addison Building, parents welcome to attend, refreshments also provided! Youth should wear Sunday attire.
Thur Jan 17th - Start Merit Badge - Personal Fitness
Thur Jan 24th - Pack Check for Yurt Snowshoe Camping on 25th/26th!
Fri/Sat 25th/26th - Yurt Snowshoe Camping. More details TBA.
Thur Jan 31st - Court of Honor
Yurt Snowshoe Camping Details: Yurt + Snowshoes + Snow + 1/25/2019 = Awesome
We are doing this activity INSTEAD of the Centennial District Klondike campout.
Yurt has been reserved! If fathers would like to join us, please let us know ASAP so that we can plan appropriately!
Arrive Friday Jan 25th. It will take about 2.5 hours(ish) to drive to the location.
Snowshoeing and playing in the snow on Saturday Jan 26th.
We are covering part of the snowshoe rental, but asking parents to cover the additional $7 per boy. Please reach out to Tanner Duncan and/or Jon Chartrand if you have questions or concerns about the cost.
