to Conservative Scott vs. Liberal Scott on Politics, Economics & Culture
For the second week in row, Scott and Scott post on similar topics.

Scott L started the week with a post entitled "Terrorists tried in US
Courts and other random thoughts." Scott argues in the post that the
decision by the Obama adminstration to try the terrorist detainees in
civilian courts to have weakened the security of the United States.
In the post, he lists several reasons why the government will have a
hard time convicting these detainees and possible Al-Qaeda responses
to the trial.

Scott J responded with a post entitled "On Terrorist Detainees and the
Writ of Habeas Corpus." Using the work of three philosophers, Scott
argues that the actions of the United States in the War on Terror can
be justified morally. However, the fundamental right of the Writ of
Habeas Corpus makes the justification more difficult, since President
Bush unilaterally suspended the right for the terrorist detainees.

At the blog, please feel free comment on either post. The only way to
seek
common ground on the future of America is through effective dialogue.
Neither Scott claims to have the complete answers to the problems
facing America. If you have any thoughts on this matter, please post
them so that the blog can be a place for this dialogue as our great
National Constitution enters its 221st year of existence.
