Hi Sylvester, these things are a learning curve for all of us; so I'm
really glad to see the enthusiasm you have! Particularly as the tools
which we use to maintain the site are far from perfect! Using the
system yourself and having the willingness to dive into unfamiliar
surroundings, is (in my mind) the most important trait to have.
As you've discovered though, using the system isn't perfect. The "Rich
Text Control" (the textbox with buttons for formating text) though it
looks easy to use often gets itself in mess resulting in formatting
problems.
This is why there is a [code] tab on that page, which allows you to
display the underlying markup. Clicking on it you will allow you to
display and edit the code that makes up the post. The code you see is
HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language), which forms the fabric of the web and
tells your browser how to format pages. This may or may not be of
interest to you but it can be handy to know a little about it, and how
it works as it allows you to correct formatting problems when they
arise. There's loads of good free information about HTML online, if
you're interested this should be a good starting point:

I suspect you thought the post looked amateurish because the font was
subtly different (due to the formatting problem I described above). I
have tidied up the underlying code to correct this.
The only thing I can see that is missing is Lucy's fullname. You should
be able to put this in yourself. I'd probably do it, by highlighting
someone elses name, copying it to the clipboard (by pressing CTRL-C
together), then pasting the name above Lucy's photo (by pressing
CTRL-V). You should find this also copies the formatting, allowing you
to change the name to Lucy's.
Putting in hyperlinks is a process of deciding which bits of the text
you want to make links, and finding a good resource (URL/Web-Address) to
link them to. Individually copy the URL to the clipboard, then select
the text you want to make a link (either with the mouse or by holding
shift and an arrow key), then select the link button (it looks like a
link from a chain). A dialog box should appear, paste the URL in with
CTRL-V and click the ok button. You should see a link is created.
Hope this helps... Glad to see you making such good progress, you'll be
putting us to shame! :-)
All the best,
Rick.
