I've been doing some homework on where to do our hackathon.

I've got a nice place here, which their main room holds up to 50 people, with wifi included and catering services.

It's difficult to look for somewhere when we don't know how many people are buying tickets for the second day, but I'm going for a 50% figure.
I've never been to a conference with a hackathon, typically what percentage of the main conference tickets turn up for the hackathon ?

- Paul.

I'm going to an all day workshop there tomorrow.

Are there any questions you want me to ask in person?

Well they're calling me up tomorrow (their techy guy)

Have a look around their "main room" and take pictures or links us to it from their website :-)

Theres nothing more we can do until we know how many WhiskyWebbers are coming to the hackathon to see if this place will even fit.

Regular conference attenders, what's the usual percentage of hackathon attendees from the main conf?

I usually expect the hackathons to be a pretty minor percentage, at a conference of around 300 I usually see between 20 and 40 at the extra day afterwards

That's where EdLUG used to host their monthly meetings and I seem to
recall their main room was a decent size with decent facilities.

Cheers,
Max

It's really hard to compare - but the conferences I've been to with sprints its generally 25% or less. However, these have all been abroad and most people are going home for the weekend or trying to save money - so much of it wont apply to a two day event.
