Happy New Year to you all.

I attach the revised minutes of the meeting on the 2nd December. There has been a number of comments resulting in changes which have been tracked. As ever I have saved a copy in the Dropbox.

Unless anyone has any pressing problem with these, I do not propose to re-issue before the next meeting when they will be reviewed.

I trust this is in order.

Patrick.  Hopelessly late I'm afraid, but I have tweaked the 3rd and 4th bullets recorded for item 5 and saved in Dropbox.  While the minutes accord with my now hazy memory of our meeting, and I have no objection to them in their current form, this particular set is unusual in my experience in attributing comments recorded to individual members.  Might be worth agreeing a preferred style for future minutes at the next meeting - although I don't have a strong view.

I'm used to an approach whereby
  • points or responses made by the presenter are usually attributed to the presenter of an item,
  • comments are attributed to an individual if he or she specifically asks that they should be (typically where the individual does not agree with a majority decision), but
  • other comments are not individually attributed.
The advantage of such an approach seems to be that it can lead to a less inhibited discussion.  I've no problem with the alternative you have adopted but it might lead to more careful (and timely!) scrutiny of the minutes in future.

Adrian

No problems Adrian

My minute taking approach is to attribute all comments to evidence contributions by individuals, but there is probably no need for such evidencing with the SIA. Its not as if we are going to be reviewed by the PRA!

As part of the review of minutes on the 3rd March, I will propose that we go with your approach in future.

All

It might be worth putting this down as a short agenda meeting for March so that we can have an agreed policy for the future.

Kind regards

Ken

Hello Patrick,

I have tweak the comment attributed to me under the peer review discussion and saved in the drop box and agree the changes Roger made in relation to my comment in item 1.

Best Wishes
Irene
