Hi all - I attach a string of emails relating to the addition of Simon Jagger's 'Investment Updates' to the SIA Dropbox.

The first lot are those between John and me, with the bottom 2 being my exchange with Simon.

Anyway, I hope you find these of interest, and suggest we review the matter at the next SIA Meeting.

Cheers.   Ronnie

I’m not a member of the SIA any more – only providing support for the dropbox and eMail Google Group – so not really up to me to decide or inform on SIA issues.

I suggest you raise at the next meeting and if you feel it necessary let SIA members know by eMail about the set up of the Jagger folder.

John

Thanks, John - I'll do that, and perhaps drop in the last 3 years' issues for good measure.

However, in case you're not aware, Simon is himself an actuary (FIA 1995) who runs his own consultancy firm in Manchester, and who once attended and addressed our SIA Group here in Edinburgh.

Perhaps you should notify SIA members of the addition to the drop-box, after which we could consider whether it was appropriate for Simon to add them himself and to have access to our other stuff.

Cheers.   Ronnie

I’ve set up a folder ‘Jagger & Associates Investment Updates’ and added their Update 147 to it – which hopefully you will see.

It wouldn’t be appropriate to add him as a participant of the SIA folder (unless of course he joins the SIA). However, all you need to do, in future, is copy future updates you receive (and any previous updates you have received) to that folder, and all the SIA members should have permanent access.

All the best.    John

Hi John - I've been getting these monthly bulletins from Simon Jagger for some years now, as I think also have some others in SIA.

Anyway, you'll see his request below, re which I think it would probably be a good idea for him to send his bulletins to the SIA Dropbox.

So, if you agree, would you please set up the necessary folder within the dropbox, and notify Simon of where to send them in future.

I hope that all makes sense, but please let me know if you have any queries.

Cheers.   Ronnie

Thanks, as ever, for this, Simon.

Following your suggestion, I have indeed placed not only your March 2014 Bulletin, but also the previous 3 calendar years' issue, in our SIA 'dropbox', which can be accessed by all our members, some of whom you met when you were here a few years ago.

However, several of us have since dropped out, but more than countered by an influx of new members.  Unfortunately - from my point of view, anyway - most of these new members are ex life-office actuaries who now work on a contract basis for Life Cos doing regulatory stuff.

Anyway, I'll obtain feedback at our next meeting, and see whether we might suggest some stronger relationship.  But in the meantime, please continue to send me a copy each month, which I'll place in the SIA Dropbox.

Many thank.   Cheers.  Ronnie

Please find enclosed the latest monthly Investment Update from Jagger & Associates.

We would be happy for you to place this on your company intranet (or equivalent) if that would be of benefit to your colleagues.  This month's feature considers the aftermath of the Budget DC pension announcement.

Please do let me know if you wish to suggest anyone else as a recipient, or if you no longer wish to receive this publication.  Also, if you would like to contribute an article to the Feature Section, or would like to suggest a contributor, please let me know.

Thanks

Simon
