Sorry I can’t now attend, but note from the Agenda that I have a point to speak to…. the good news is that I would have had little to say, so include a brief comment below for completeness.  

 

The consultation on the expert witness APS has closed with a decent response which we have considered with interest (particularly Allan’s comments of course !) and a finalised draft will be moved up the chain in the profession at some point. An issue raised, with which I have some sympathy is that the draft APS is so principles based that it is largely a restatement, with altered emphasis, of the ‘actuaries code’. The guide is however perceived as being helpful.
