Hi,

I wonder what people think of this interesting insight:

http://codebetter.com/blogs/ian_cooper/archive/2010/01/19/whither-alt-net.aspx

I think developing on the horn project has been the end of .NET for me, never mind ALT.NET.

The fagmentation, lack of innovation in .NET OSS and the proliferation of countless IoC, mocking and  testing frameworks has led me to believe the platform is a bit of a waste of time.

I bitch blogged about it here http://thesoftwaresimpleton.blogspot.com/2010/01/go-fubumvc-yourself.html after yet another MVC framework got people hot under the collar when in my estimation and ASP.NET MVC clone where they have used some design changes like composition over inheritance.  Hardly game changing in my opinion or worth the countless boring blog posts heralding this non event of a framework in the grand scheme of things.

ALT.NET seems to have lost traction and I am not sure if it ever will regain the promise it once had.

My question is, am I wrong and if so why?

P.S.  What happened to ALT.NET in Scotland?

Cheers

When I say what happened to ALT.NET in Scotland, I meant the ALT.NET conference in Scotland.
