I would be grateful for any advice on how to deal with Glasgow's council tax department. I have recently been forwarded a demand for council tax for a flat I lived in 2 years ago. The lease came to an end in June 2010. I was a student in Glasgow at the time. I no longer live in Scotland. The landlord forwarded the letter to me, it was addressed to me at my old Glasgow address. There have been student tenants in the flat since my leaving though the landlord has since said there are no tenants in the flat since April 2012 -- the year of the rate demand. I have since learnt from Glasgow council tax dept that the debt has been passed to Sherrif's Officers. How can I stop this unjust juggernaut?
