GSOC-2026 (GDB-UI contribution)

Hi C2SI team ,I am Ubika Singh,a student at IIEST Shibpur(BTech 2nd year IT ) .

I have worked primarily on HTML,CSS,JS ,React and have proficiency in C and java . I've also done some Web3 development recently as part of a hackathon (INNOVAT3 on Devfolio), where I worked on a Solana-based ticketing platform using React/TypeScript on the frontend.I've written and debugged C programs as part of my computer graphics coursework at college, which is actually what drew me to GDB UI.

I've gone through the GDB UI repo and I understand the current structure — the React frontend in the webapp folder, the Flask backend in gdbui_server, and the docker-compose setup. I'm in the process of setting it up locally so I have a working understanding of the codebase before writing my proposal.I plan to make a small contribution to the repo (a PR on one of the open issues) before the proposal deadline on March 31 as well.

  Could someone point me to a good first issue to pick up, or share any advice on what the mentors are looking for in proposals this year?
