Can SSH be used to secure the tarantella server

If I set up of local port forwarding with ssh -L ...

can I secure the Tarantella sessions that are coming over the internet?

I know that a security option is available from Tarantella, but I don't want

to incur the yearly costs of the SSL certificate.

Which ports which have to be mapped via SSH?
