How to enable remote desktop on a win2000 professional PC

I currently have a win2000 professional PC that I want to access
through the internet using tarantella. I know that XP has a native RDP
protocol for remote desktop and win2000 doesn't. Is it possible to
configure tarantella to access the win2000 professional PC without the
remote desktop protocol? If yes could you give the guidelines for the
setup?
