Dear all

I'm very interested in your Tarantella technology to create a Virtual
Laboratory (via e common browser access, without any client) similar to
the example provided here: http://www.techonline.com/community/37890
("Access this product now" button when the service is available)

In short I would control a remote Windows 2003 server session to manage
a virtual lab. My main requirement is to be transparent to our firewall
rules, and to avoid any client package. Because the implementation
example provided at http://www.techonline.com/community/37890 works
with our firewall rules, I think the remote control of a Windows 20003
session via the Tarantella technology should be possible.

I tried to find in the Tarantella web site a demonstration version of
the "Tarantella Secure Global Desktop Enterprise Edition (single user
version" for windows. but I haven't found any windows version.
Navigating in internet I discovered that the Tarantella technology is
based on an additional Linux server that acts as a "bridge" between
internet and the target PC station (with Windows in my case). My
questions are:
1) Is it true that Tarantella technology can control a remote Window
2000 desktop ? How this is possible ?
2) Do I need an additional machine (with Linux) to enable a Windows
remote desktop control ?

Hi Nocciolone

for your
Q1:- The answer is yes,Tarantella technology can control a remote win
2000 desktop. It is possible via a protocall called "RDP".The only
things that you have to do is install the win 2k server with Terminal
services.

Q2:-The answer is yes you need another box for linux machine.then you
have to install tarantella on this linux OS.

hope this will help.

Dear Rajnish

Thank you for your support. To be precise I have a Windows XP as a
client PC and Windows 2003 server as the server station. I know the RDP
protocol and I usually use the Remote Desktop Connection to Windows XP
server, to connect the client to the server, but this communication
doesn't pass through the firewall placed between the two machines.

Unfortunately to place an additional server that act as a "bridge" for
the communication make no sense. I would preferred to install the
Tarantella package on my Windows 2003 server. It's a pity that
Tarantella is not the right package for me.

Thank you again !
Regards
Nocciolone
