AD(via LDAP) group names including a space

Hi,

how can I map AD groups (via LDAP) for use, which do include a space character?
My LDAP setup does work for single word group names (mapped to "external"), but once I enter a space character (or try to quote in any way) on the Web GUI groups > create page, the name is maked invalid and I cannot proceed.

Hi Toby,

I'm afraid we do not support spaces in group names and changing this might have unexpected consequences.

One possibility I'm thinking about is to add a configuration to the LDAP plugin to map characters that must not be used in SCM-Manager to other charactes (for example to replace spaces with underscores). This might be a feature that could be implemented by other developers, too.

Uhh ... then I need to get IT to map the required group onto a derrived group name without spaces.

Overall when looking at the hundreds of group names in our corp AD, a third of them does include a space. And it looks like complex names including spaces are quite common in Active Directoy - at least in our organization. So if this is really the case in general, support for such group names should be added to SCM Manager -> a feature request ;-)
