Hello,

I recently cloned a Debian 10 server running SCM Manager 1.6, then upgraded SCM Manager to 2.8.0 on the cloned server. Although I can log into SCM Manager via port 8080 web interface, I cannot run CLI commands such as:

It repeatedly asks me for the password, then displays the following error:

Authentication realm: <http://x.x.x.x:8080> SONIA :: SCM Manager
Username: myuser
Password for 'myuser': **********

Authentication realm: <http://x.x.x.x:8080> SONIA :: SCM Manager
Username: ^Csvn: E170013: Unable to connect to a repository at URL 'http://x.x.x.x:8080/scm/repo/svn/myrepo'
svn: E200015: The operation was interrupted

I cannot find anything in the log files relevant to this authentication problem: /var/log/scm

Furthermore, permissions for multiple users are the same on the upgraded SCM server. Changing the password doesn't make any difference. Removing, then re-adding permissions to a repository does not work either.

Please advise,

Mark

Hello Mark,
It looks like the connection is interrupted could you try to do the checkout from the same machine scm-manager runs on and checkout from localhost?

Sebastian

Hello Sebastian,
I tried from the same machine SCM Manager runs on using localhost and the IP address and it failed as follows:

svn: E170013: Unable to connect to a repository at URL 'http://localhost:8080/scm/repo/svn/myrepo'
svn: E215004: No more credentials or we tried too many times.
Authentication failed

Please advise,

Mark

Hi Mark,

did you have a look at the server logs? What do they say? Can you send the logs from the failiing checkout?

Regards
René
