Hello,
I have scm manager 1.60 installed and I would like to be able to download the plugins from the plugin site and then upload the plugins to install.  However when I download the zip of the plugin repo and then attempt to upload a plugin from Scmmanager->plugins->install package->upload the zip folder it errors out.  How do i do this?
Thanks,
Nathanael

Hi Nathanael,

Could you tell me why you want to install the plugins manually in the first place? Does your SCM-Manager not have access to the plugin server, or is there another reason? I'm asking, because the manual installation can always lead to issues. Therefore the automatic installation, by using the "install" button in the plugins screen is the recommended way.

Beyond that, I would like to know where you got the zip file. Did you download the repository from Bitbucket? If that is the case, then the zip file does not contain executable code.

Cheers,
Daniel

Hello Daniel,

I know this thread is a little bit old but at the moment I am facing the same problem as Nathanael and my reason why I would like to install a scm-manager manually is that our scm-manager is hosted in a net segment in our comapny without internet access. My first try was just upload the jar file from another scm-manager (with the same version) but then I get a 500 internal server error... That's why I would like to ask here is there a way to upload the plugin manually? In the other case I have to talk to our admin to get temporary internet access for the server.
best regards
Dan

Hi Dan,

I'm sorry for the late reply, but I wanted to try something before I answer here.

The best way to install a SCM-Manager plugin without internet access, is to have a SCM-Manager server with access to the internet that has the same version and OS as the server without internet access. Then you install all the plugins you need on the server with internet and copy the whole home folder to the home folder of the server without internet.

This way you get all the dependencies that are required. Simply copying one plugin does not work.

I hope this helps!

Best regards,
Daniel
