Gloria,

 

FYI, there is no perculiar problem facing international Logistics, in supply Chain managment we call them managerial challenges. your ability to turn around these challenges (problems) makes you an efficient Logistics manager.

 

with regards to International Logistics, one major challenge is communication barrier (Language), procuring  or shipping  from a country which doesn't speak your language is very difficult. for your supplier or forwarder  to understand your country's regulations is always a major challenge.

To overcome this challenge, in selecting your suppliers and forwarders, you also need to put into consideration how well do they understand your language or how are they prepared to cooprate with your terms.

If I may chip in, what about the modern challenges of "terrorism and
narcotics peddling"?

"I think International Logistics and Terrorism has a minute relationship but has direct relationship with Narcotics peddling.we all think there is an increase in Norcotics peddling all over the world but, it has always been the same all years.

 

The credit should rather go to the security intellegence in the various countires. they have made it difficult to transport drugs accross different airports or habours and this has lead to the increase arrest of drug peddlers everyday.

We were not hearing these news as frequently as now and that doesn't mean narcotic business were not going on, it is because they there were not being cought like now.

 

The security intellegence are now abreast with effective logistics managment hence their ability to easily monitor and track shipments with the aid of technology.
