Hi,

I realized yesterday that the stepcode domain had expired before I'd gotten around to renewing. I figured this was a good time to ask if anyone else wanted to step up as the lead; I don't see myself contributing significantly in the forseeable future.

As I'm sure you've all noticed, I have had very little time for stepcode in the last several years. Part of that is my job, and part of it is the time it takes to get up to speed - by the time I'm ready to dig into an issue, I'm out of free time.

Resurrecting the site wouldn't be hard - just register the domain and point it at Sean's server. Or, set it up as a CNAME pointing to github such that github serves the site out of the repo there. I don't recall the repo name, but its content should be identical to what's on Sean's box.

Regards
Mark

Hi Mark,

Great contribution over the years!  Thanks!  It was one of several things that inspired me to learn more about STEP.

Are any of the listed maintainers of stepcode (github) reading this message board?

(tpaviot, mpictor, brlcad)

I'd like additional organisation and team permissions.

Chris

Yep, still listening here and still interested in STEP development.  STEPcode has been neglected of recent, obviously, but only because of other pressures.  We still use it on the daily in BRL-CAD.  We’re on zulipchat and IRC if you’d prefer to talk interactively at https://brlcad.zulipchat.com

Cheers!
Sean

I have added cshorler to the list of maintainers and increased default member permissions to Write.  This also required updating the former “Admin” team to “Maintainers” as an administrative role.  I’d only ask that nobody decrease anyone’s permissions without discussion as the intention is to enable development, not restrict it.  This of course implies a moderate amount of trust and communication.

Cheers!
Sean
