We're glad to announce that we've just tagged a beta pre-release of the forthcoming Iris v1.7.0.

If you have the opportunity (and motivation), then please checkout this tagged pre-release @ https://github.com/SciTools/iris/releases/tag/v1.7.0beta1

We're aiming to release v1.7.0 soon, so if you believe there are any major problems with this pre-release then please report them as an issue @ https://github.com/SciTools/iris/issues
