Hi all,

Following on from the recent news about the upcoming Iris release, we are pleased to announce the full release of Iris v2.2. It's available on PyPI now and will be available on conda-forge before the end of the day.

As always, we welcome all submissions of new features to Iris; these will be added to the Iris v2.3 development branch.

Kind regards,
Peter

congrats on this v2.2 release  -- a quick look on Github shows that CHANGES file is not updated for some time.. perhaps a source of confusion for those (like me) who only check on all things Iris once in a while..   more substantial feedback forthcoming..

cheers --Brian

Hi Brian

See the first two lines of the CHANGES file:

This file is no longer updated and is provided for historical purposes only.
Please see docs/iris/src/whatsnew/ for a changelog.

We could probably remove it now that its been 5 years since the last update to it, I'm not sure the historical record would be useful anymore, but you never know...

It's probably not important, but I just noticed the v2.2 whatsnew page doesn't have a release date
