SciTE 5.0.1 is now available from the scintilla.org web site.

SciTE 5.0.1 is a major unstable release. Extensive changes were made to Scintilla for this release.

A detailed list of changes is available on the history page.
http://www.scintilla.org/SciTEHistory.html

New settings include bookmark.stroke.width, fold.stroke.width, whitespace.size, and on Windows only, autocomplete.fore, autocomplete.back, autocomplete.selected.fore, autocomplete.selected.back. fold.fore
fold.back, and fold.highlight.colour now allow 8 digit #RRGGBBAA colour values that include 2 digits of translucency (FF= opaque, 7F= half transparent).

SciTE uses Mercurial (Hg) and Git for source code control. The repositories can be cloned with
git clone https://github.com/ScintillaOrg/lexilla
hg clone http://hg.code.sf.net/p/scintilla/code scintilla
hg clone http://hg.code.sf.net/p/scintilla/scite

There will be a macOS release of SciTE 5.0.1 in a few days.

A different strategy was followed for Windows binaries for this release. There is a 64-bit release that does not work on Windows XP and a 32-bit release that should work on Windows XP but has not been tested.

Thanks to the contributors of code and documentation and to the testers.

Neil
